The Mills House

This client had to have a Chestnut tree taken down in their yard a few years ago. Now they’ve moved to a new house, but wanted to bring some of the memories of the old home with them. They brought me the tree and left me with the mission to build them some furniture for nearly every room in the house. The giant dining table came from two book-matched slabs that made for a beautiful symmetrical top. The coffee table features that stunning waterfall miter joint to make the leg on one side and a solid steel leg for the other. In addition to the twin end tables we also got to build them some gorgeous live-edge floating shelves (not pictured). The whole project was an incredibly fun and rewarding one to work on, and a really nice homage to where the client’s lives started together that they can bring with them into the start of the next chapter of their lives.
