A small custom design woodworking shop located in Eugene Oregon, Big Tree uses a blend of contemporary and traditional techniques to create pieces that will stand the test of time and find a comfortable place in any home.
What started as a disenchantment with “disposable” furniture from retail giants, grew into a passion for creating solid, long lasting pieces that still retain some modern inspiration.
We take materials seriously. We try to source as much of our materials as possible from local businesses and the surrounding area. Some of the wood we use is even gathered from surrounding properties as either deadfall or necessary removal and milled here on site.
Founder and Owner, Jasper Walton, is the sole designer of all the pieces that come out of the workshop. Growing up with generations of woodworkers instilled him with a fondness for the craft, and although he has had other pursuits and paths in life, a passion for making things - especially from wood - has been a mainstay of his since the beginning.
All the items that come from our store are hand built by craftsmen in our shop. Nothing is outsourced, nothing is prefabricated, nothing is wasted, and nothing less than the best materials make it into our pieces.
